This week I was guided to take some time away from the news and social media. I wanted to go inside, meditate, regenerate and reflect. I was asked to write what came to me. Pages and pages ensued in between teaching classes and strong personal practice. It is amazing how much creativity can flow when we choose to give it space!
When was the last time you took a time out?
I’m not talking about sitting on the naughty step, but nourishing yourself in the ways that your body and spirit are crying out for. I have been on an online group program for the past three weeks called Nourish Yourself with Kate Marolt designed for this very purpose. We cannot expect our bodies and minds to keep going indefinitely with what we have to do and have to accomplish to be a success or whatever it is that’s driving us. Sometimes, especially those who seek to be more and more spiritually led, we have to let go and let Spirit flow.
This past week has been proof to me that I don’t have to leave the country to benefit from some down time. I am completely open to leaving the country of course, but sometimes, it isn’t even necessary to stop work. You can create that sense of space and an opportunity to wonder at the world again simply by cutting down on the media clutter. The opportunity to deep-dive into my own spiritual practice has been like an oasis to me. I have had longer meditations and yoga practices, longer channelled writing sessions. I hope to share more and more of that with you as the year unfolds.
Consider taking some time away from the things that really distract you. This could be TV, Social Media, the News, wherever it is you go to avoid allowing the mind to be still. Even if it’s only a day, you will find that in that space you have created, the birds will begin to sing. A cool breeze will play among the branches of your mind and spring clean your spirit. How was it for you?
These are deep and unreachable waters we are diving when we dive into our spiritual selves. At least, that is what some would have you believe. It is all here, present within you, all the time. Every depth, every insight, every discovery ever made. You can play any instrument, speak any language, fly, heal this body, read the mind’s vibrations in another.
It is very likely you may not choose to do all of this in one lifetime.
But you can.
You feel it don’t you?
You feel the whole world and the Universe inside you.
